So on week 4 Monday, room 3 went around the school measuring simple machines around target road school. If you do not know these simple machines that we were discovering as well as taking photos i will tell you right now: Inclined plane and a example of that is a ramp,Next is the screw now pretty much every where has a screw, i mean come on you will have had to have seen a screw in your life man (or woman).Wedge a example of that is a crowbar.Pulley, a example of that is a crane Next up is the lever and the example of that is a door handle and last but not least is the.... WHEEL & AXLE! The final example is a car. So what we did was Miss Clampitt (our teacher) put us into group and in our groups we went around taking photos and writing down in our books what we were taking pictures of. Term 2 week 4 room 3 has started tennis as a class exercise. Tennis is very helpful for us because a lot of us did not know how to actually do anything in tennis but now we sort of have an idea on tennis. here are a few photos of our first session. Hopefully we can have more sessions playing tennis
Week 7 Term 1 Writing: This week we started learning about narrative writing. We talked and wrote about memories we remember vividly and what emotions connect with those memories. We talked about the stories and pieces of writing that we have really enjoyed. We identified 3 stories we would take to a deserted island... We created "What if..." questions to help inspire our own narrative writing. Next week we will think about setting and character. Through this process of narrative writing we will make connections in the story which link to our own identity. The students will have the wonderful opportunity to be creative in their writing and use lots of descriptive vocabulary. Maths: Our focus this term has been developing our number knowledge and applying our number knowledge and strategies to problem solving questions.
